Webflow alternative

Webflow is a beautiful CMS. The moment you need real auth, real data, or anything dynamic, you've outgrown it.

✦ Stay on Webflow if
  • You're a marketing-led brand with a content-first site
  • Your site is <30 pages
  • You don't need user accounts or stored data
✦ Migrate when
  • You need user accounts, dashboards, anything authenticated
  • Your site has >100 pages and Webflow's CMS is straining
  • You need server-side logic (booking, payment, integrations)
  • Page-load times are hurting SEO

Webflow is good at one job

Webflow is the best visual website builder in the world for designers. The CMS is solid for blog-style content. The animations are excellent. If your needs match Webflow's strengths, stay on Webflow.

But Webflow is fundamentally a static site generator with a CMS layer. The moment you need authentication, custom backend logic, complex data relationships, or anything resembling an app, you're fighting the tool.

The Next.js advantage

  • Same visual quality — Tailwind + Framer Motion gets you the same look-and-feel.
  • Real backend — Next.js API routes + Supabase = full-stack.
  • Better SEO — server-rendering, custom meta per page, programmatic SEO.
  • Real data — relational database with proper queries, not Webflow's simplified CMS.
  • Lower cost at scale — Webflow Business is $29/mo + $39/mo CMS; Vercel + Supabase covers the same workload for $20/mo total.

What I rebuild for clients

Most Webflow migrations I do are companies that started as a marketing site, then bolted on a customer area, then bolted on a booking system, then realized their stack is three Zapier integrations stitched to a Memberstack workaround. The rebuild collapses all of that into one Next.js + Supabase app where everything works natively.
